Comprehensive Tracheostomy Care

Comprehensive Tracheostomy Care is a resource developedby the UK National Tracheostomy Safety Project (NTSP) to helppromote and facilitate the safe management of tracheostomies andlaryngectomies. The scope includes hospital in-patient specialistareas such as critical care, head & neck units and specialistwards, but it is also applicable to more general wards, outpatientand community settings. The majority of the content is for adultpatients, complemented by a dedicated paediatric chapter developedwith colleagues from Great Ormond Street Hospital. The manual is a one stopshop covering all aspectsof tracheostomy and laryngectomy management. It includesmultidisciplinary resources from surgical, anaesthetic, nursing,intensive care and allied health backgrounds, along with guidancefrom key UK stakeholder organisations.
